Schwanthalerstr. 55+57

A vacant building, a collective comprising artists and people involved in culture and the arts in search of new space, and a project developer whose aim is to create sustainable urban development projects – ideal prerequisites for a new interim use in the heart of Munich. Working together with MUCBOOK and broke.today, we are once again creating a colorful mix of interim uses involving art, culture and co-working at Schwanthaler Straße 57. Its name? Franzi!

Fewer pecks on the cheek, more "amore"

The MUCBOOK CLUBHAUS at Schwanthaler Straße 57 will open its doors for a single summer. The concept brings together a wide variety of players from the creative industries and the cultural and sustainability sectors with a variety of different offerings for the public. Franzi, with its lively inner courtyard, will create a place where people can meet as well as serve as a venue for series of talks and art exhibitions, thus making the Bahnhofsviertel district an attractive urban space with inspiring people, a variety of works of art, and urban green spaces.

    Interim use "FRANZI"

ehret+klein facilitated the creative interim use of the vacant building for almost 1 1/2 years. MUCBOOK created the MUCBBOK Clubhouse FRANZI, which was used as a place of encounter and exchange for numerous events, panels, discussion forums, exhibitions and parties. The artist collective broke.today created a mixture of studio space, workshop, exhibition and concerts, a boxing studio and an event location. Green City e. V. used the building to show why greening surfaces and façades can have a lasting impact on the microclimate of a property. The FreiRAUM-Viertel association not only produced the furniture for the parklets realized in Landwehrstraße on site, but also demonstrated solutions for partial greening of areas in public spaces.
