Before demolition, three heavily dilapidated building ruins were located on the historically marked property, which were built around 1915. Over the decades, the buildings served as a hospital and sanatorium. Until 1994 the Soviet army used them as an officers' casino and listening station. With the demolition of the ruins we set a new milestone in the development of the site.
The total of seven construction plots on the site will be realized in two phases. The realization in the north has begun: Four structures with 223 residential units will be built by 2020. The apartments in the two to four-story buildings will vary between 40 m² and 100 m².
The southern area will then be developed with a comprehensive neighborhood concept. Residents and neighbors will be able to take care of themselves from daily grocery shopping to visits to the doctor. Mobility leaves nothing to be desired; environmentally friendly transportation is ensured directly at the S-Bahn station with its P+R parking garage. Further neighborhood concepts are under development.
