In addition to a synergetic mix of residential, co-working by Interlink Space, education, gastronomy and space for the "Digital Education" foundation, the new building will be built to the highest sustainability standards. These include the greening of the façade and roof surfaces, the installation of solar panels on the roof and e-charging stations in the underground car park, as well as construction to KfW 55 standard. The green inner courtyard for restaurants and a communal roof garden with play facilities round off the green ensemble.
The educational quarter impresses both with its balanced mix of uses and its sustainable planning.
The Bildungsquartier is intended to show how sustainability can be thought beyond the ecological aspect, with social aspects also playing a prominent role. In this innovative concept, this includes thinking of educational facilities as part of mixed-use buildings and not as separate buildings on the outskirts of the city. Social integration is the goal: the building is open to all age and income groups. From schoolchildren to pensioners, from company bosses to nurses.
